St. Louis therapist for 19 years

St. Louis counseling services. Get clear.
I base my relationship with each and every client, and couple, on the certainty that when challenges occur, something better is trying to reveal itself. So rather than go down or lose hope, it's actually the best time to give it your all. It may be hard to believe, but whatever difficulty you might be facing, it's a good sign. You must be ready to break free of some type of fear or pattern that is limiting you from reaching your potential — and this pain or stress may very well be the wake up call you need.

"There is a rule that Right before an amazing revelation or miracle in your life, you will feel alone." Michael Berg

In my experience, Counseling works because constant growth works. Willingness to change is the best way to take control over your own happiness. Is it easy? No. Is it simple? Yes — Once you begin to understand some basic universal principles, are willing to be honest with yourself and then take simple actions to transform.  As a soul searcher myself, I can only help you risk and trust the process of change to the extent that I am personally willing to do so. I can say from experience that when you have a true desire to change and an open mind for new concepts about life, relationships, and yourself, results that feel miraculous can and will happen. It can be terrifying to be honest with ourselves, to be vulnerable, to stop blaming and change. But I say with conviction that the effort and personal responsibility required to peel away the layers to reveal your true self ... it's a small price to pay for the fulfillment, purpose and peace that you are meant to have.

A bit about my background: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in St. Louis with a Doctorate in Counseling and Masters in Psychology. A Missouri Approved Counseling Supervisor, I am grateful for the privilege of counseling for 19 years—in private practice—working with adults, couples, families and groups. More about my background.

In all its forms and stages, coming in with or without their partners, Relationship Issues are a predominant specialty of mine, because honestly, the need is so great and the value and meaning found in marriage and family runs deep.  Whether it's a crisis, chronic fighting, a loss of passion, an affair, built up resentment, or pre-marital concerns, it is my honor to do what I can to mend and enhance the bond for those who seek help from me as their Marriage Counselor--whether engaged or married, straight or gay, dating or separated. The health of any relationship is directly connected to the health and emotional independence of the two involved. So be prepared to change your partner less and work on yourself more.

Other counseling Specialties include self esteem, spiritual growth, anger management, overcoming fears and anxiety, divorce, addiction, transforming negative thinking and finding your purpose. All with an eye toward empowering each of you to heal and overcome, improve your relationships and tap into the bigger picture of your given potential for unlimited happiness and achievement.

I take my work and relationship with each and every client seriously and personally; so much so that I feel I must continue growing and improving my abilities to optimally help you change your life. Finding a path and a life that you can claim as your own - and that you love - is priceless.

Together, it is my privilege to help you find and create yours!

Rachel

  • Through our work together I was able to get off my anti-depressants, lose 120lbs., and realize some very important life lessons, that to this day serve me well.  I am forever appreciative for every minute I spent with Rachel. May she bring you the same peace, love and light on your journey. ~ L
  • The Best! My long term girlfriend and I went to Dr. Glik for relationship counseling. She was so spot on with the information and tools she gave us. We are already very conscious of spirituality and observing our relationship, but she could tell us things about ourselves that we never noticed and gave us solutions to solve the issues. All the while making us both see our true inner strengths and values as people. We left every session empowered and self confident. Rachel Glik has got to be the best counselor in St. Louis there is! ~ Sam
  •  Even now, many years later, I hear the open-hearted wisdom Dr. Glik shared with me in my own words.  I've referred many clients to Dr. Glik and they've all raved about her.  She is a rare and precious soul."
